Public Overview
Our Review: Va Sano Junglinster
We visited Va Sano ourselves – here is our personal impression from several visits, complemented by our latest lunch in July 2026.
More than just the local Italian restaurant
Some restaurants quickly become places you return to without thinking twice. Not because they constantly surprise you, but because they consistently deliver a pleasant experience. Va Sano in Junglinster is one of those restaurants.
When the former V8 closed its doors, Va Sano successfully established itself in the same location and has since become a popular meeting place for residents, families and businesses alike.
Over the past few years, we have returned to Va Sano time and time again, sometimes for a relaxed lunch with the family, sometimes for dinner with friends, and occasionally for a business meal. This review is therefore based on our long-term experience, complemented by our latest lunch in July 2026.
A relaxed lunch at Va Sano
On our latest visit, we arrived shortly after midday on a sunny Friday in July 2026. The restaurant was already beginning to fill with local residents, business guests and families enjoying lunch on the terrace.
We chose dishes that reflected the variety of the menu: a pasta dish, a Buddha Bowl and a fresh Caesar Salad. We started with a Kir Blanc before switching to a glass of rosé wine, while our son enjoyed a Diabolo Grenadine.

Italian classics with a modern twist
The menu goes beyond pizza and pasta. Alongside Italian classics, it includes Pinsa, salads and Buddha Bowls, which makes it practical for mixed groups. Over the years we have tried Pizza Diavola, pasta with scampi and salmon, different Pinsa options and the restaurant’s Buddha Bowls.
During our latest visit, the tagliatelle with tuna and beef stood out for their slightly Asian-inspired sauce. It is an unusual combination for an Italian restaurant, but it worked surprisingly well. The portion was satisfying, the tuna and beef tasted fresh, and the dish was full of flavour.
The Salmon Buddha Bowl offered a lighter alternative, while the Caesar Salad was a good choice for our son. Overall, the food was once again reliable and enjoyable. In terms of value, we find the pizzas, Pinsa and children’s menu fairly priced, while some pasta dishes and Buddha Bowls feel slightly expensive for what they offer.
Friendly and personal service
The service at Va Sano has always been friendly and personable during our visits. The team interacts naturally with guests, is happy to share a joke and contributes to the relaxed atmosphere. Orders are usually taken promptly, and the first drinks and dishes arrive within a reasonable amount of time.
If we could suggest one improvement, it would be slightly more proactive attentiveness once the restaurant becomes busy. Empty glasses are not always noticed, and guests may occasionally need to ask for another drink. From our experience, this is not a question of attitude, but rather a sign that the team can be stretched when the restaurant reaches capacity.
A spacious restaurant with a standout terrace
Va Sano’s atmosphere is one of the main reasons we enjoy returning. The interior is modern, welcoming and relaxed, while the bright, open layout gives the restaurant a spacious feel. It works well for family meals, business lunches, dinner with friends or a quieter evening as a couple.
The large terrace is one of Va Sano’s greatest strengths. Its substantial awning protects from strong sun and light rain, making it usable in more weather conditions than many terraces. In colder months, the winter garden offers an attractive alternative and can also work well for larger groups.

Easy to reach and effortless to park
Va Sano is located in the Lënster Bierg business area, and arriving by car is straightforward. There are plenty of parking spaces directly in front of the restaurant, and four EV charging points are available immediately outside.

Who Va Sano is best for
Va Sano is a strong choice for anyone looking for a reliable Italian restaurant in the Junglinster area. Its combination of good food, pleasant atmosphere, spacious setting and easy parking makes it suitable for family lunches, business meetings, relaxed dinners or an evening as a couple.
We would not normally drive across Luxembourg specifically for a pizza or Pinsa when comparable alternatives are available closer by. However, anyone making the journey to try Va Sano is unlikely to leave disappointed. For us, it is above all a dependable local restaurant that we are genuinely happy to have in Junglinster.
Our verdict
Va Sano has become one of our regular restaurant choices in Junglinster. After the former V8 closed, we were pleased to see the location continue as a restaurant, and Va Sano makes good use of it with its modern interior, spacious layout and excellent terrace.
The food is consistently good, the team is friendly, and the restaurant is versatile enough for family meals, business appointments or an evening as a couple. For us, Va Sano’s greatest strength is the complete package: good Italian food, an attractive atmosphere, plenty of parking and a location that makes visiting effortless.
