Concept and ordering

PizzaGuy is not a classic sit-down restaurant, but a pizza concept for collection, delivery and events. Direct orders should follow the current menu and day-to-day operating information on the official website. The official website lists evening delivery within the commune of Junglinster from Monday to Friday; outside the commune, PizzaGuy refers customers to Wolt.

Food truck history

PizzaGuy was established in 2015 and remains closely connected with its food truck. The official website continues to list Foodtruck and Rent-A-Pizzaguy options for events; according to the website, Saturdays are reserved for the food truck/event operation.

Menu and prices

The official menu uses pizza names inspired by musicians and artists. Direct-menu examples include Madonna (€13.00), Pizzaguy / House Pizza (€19.50), Hillbilly (€15.50), Mick Jagger (€16.40), Hendrix (€13.70), Santana (€16.40), Peggy Sue (€18.00), Simple Man (€15.20), Slash (€18.30), Elvis Presley (€25.50), Eric Clapton (€17.60), Johnny Cash (€21.00) and Surprise (€22.50). Wolt may show different prices; for direct prices, the official PizzaGuy menu is authoritative.

Allergens and drinks

The official allergen information states that the dough contains wheat/gluten and the mozzarella is made from cow’s milk. Several pizzas are meat-free; gluten-free or vegan pizza is not shown here as confirmed. Drinks include PizzaGuy Premium Lager Beer, soft drinks and selected red and rosé wine.

Our impression of PizzaGuy in Junglinster

We have been ordering regularly from PizzaGuy in Junglinster for many years. Our story with PizzaGuy goes right back to the early days: around ten years ago, we were already picking up pizza when PizzaGuy was still operating with the food truck at the sports centre in Junglinster. Today, we usually order on a Friday or Saturday evening when things need to be quick and the family needs pizza.

We probably place around six to ten orders a year and almost always collect the pizzas ourselves, although delivery has also worked well for us. Our impressions are therefore not based on a single order, but on experience over several years.

For us, PizzaGuy is not a classic restaurant, but first and foremost a takeaway and delivery service. Inside, there are only a few seating options with tables or stools. You can theoretically eat there, but for us the concept is clearly built around delivery and collection. Most of the time we call ahead, order three or four pizzas and are given a collection time. Those times have been fairly reliable for us so far. Delivery is also possible and we use it occasionally.

Over time, we have found our favourites. My personal go-to is the Pizza Pizzaguy, which goes a little in the direction of a Diavola but has a few extra toppings. I especially like the spicy sauces or oils. My wife usually orders the Slash, and for the children we often choose a Margherita or a pizza with ham and mushrooms. We also like the pizza balls. Availability should be shown in the facts section based on the current menu rather than generalised from personal memory.

In terms of taste, the pizzas are good for us and, above all, consistent in quality. They are freshly prepared, come out of the oven nicely warm and are still warm after the short drive home. Stylistically, I would not compare them with a very thin classic Italian pizza; for me, they are closer to a European-style pizza. But they taste good to us, and after all, we have not kept ordering there for years without a reason.

Part of PizzaGuy’s charm for us is clearly the person behind the concept. The PizzaGuy is a real original: relaxed, friendly and almost always ready with a quick line. You are greeted, can exchange a few words, and the whole thing feels pleasantly uncomplicated. Another plus for us is that communication works just as easily in German as in Luxembourgish, French or English. Especially with a takeaway, where the actual encounter often lasts only a few minutes, that still leaves something personal behind.

Our children also enjoy picking up the pizzas. They like sitting on the stools at the counter and watching the pizza being prepared right in front of them. It is not a staged family attraction, just a small detail that has become part of the PizzaGuy visit for them.

Price-wise, PizzaGuy sits at a level that is now common for pizza in Luxembourg. It does not feel cheap to us; with three pizzas for the family, you quickly reach 50 euros. Since we rate price separately, I do not want to overstate this point either.

For us, PizzaGuy works especially well for takeaway in everyday life when you do not feel like cooking or do not have time. Anyone looking for a classic restaurant evening with longer seating time and a matching atmosphere will find more suitable places in Junglinster, such as Va Sano or Picobello across the road. But if you want to order pizza, collect it reliably and eat it at home, this is exactly the right concept.

And there is one more reason why we have stayed loyal to PizzaGuy for so many years: it is a local business with a personality behind it that we like and are happy to support. The pizza does not have to be fine dining or claim to be the best Italian pizza in Luxembourg. For us, PizzaGuy remains a likeable and reliable address for takeaway pizza in Junglinster: uncomplicated, consistent and with a real original behind the counter.
