La Table du Pain – closed former bakery in Luxembourg

Our review

Recently we went “again” to have brunch at La Table du Pain. On their website at the time, you could see that there were two Table du Pain in Luxembourg: one on Avenue de la Liberté and the other at 19 Avenue Monterey in Luxembourg city center. Even if we had been plenty of times to La Table du Pain, we only visited the one in the city center. It was located close to the post and previous bus station, where nowadays you find the construction site of the new shopping center “Royal-Hamilius”, in the old part of Luxembourg City.

Brunch in Luxembourg

La Table du Pain was a lovely bakery with a “big” room on the first floor (if you can call it like this). I realized that things that are regarded small in some countries appeared to be “big” in Luxembourg. However, we had a table close to the window which I liked a lot. The “big” (there is this word again) table in the middle of the room made me fantasizing about having brunch with my friends. Even so, I enjoyed having brunch with my beautiful wife.

Before we had been so often to La Table du Pain we ordered a bit of everything, which isn’t the best idea. Later we mainly ordered two menus, the FORMULE « CONTINENTAL » with one juice of fresh oranges, 1 croissant, selection of breads, butter, honey, jam, 1 hot drink (original: “1 jus d’oranges pressées ou jus de fruits frais, 1 croissant, sélection de pains, beurre, miel, confiture, 1 boisson chaude”) as well as the FORMULE « TABLE DU PAIN » with 1 juice of squeezed or fresh fruit juice, cheese, ham, butter, honey, jam, selection of breads, 1 croissant, 1 hot drink (original: “1 jus d’oranges pressées ou jus de fruits frais, fromage, jambon, beurre, miel, confiture, sélection de pains, 1 croissant, 1 boisson chaude”). When we were a bit more hungry, we also added « 2 ŒUFS AU PLAT ET CRISPY BACON » (two eggs flat with crispy bacon).

What I liked is that the orange juice was freshly pressed and delicious. The ham and cheese were fresh and tasty too. On the table, there were several different kinds of jam for the cute basket with different types of bread, which belonged to the “formulas” as you can see on the picture below.

As you have probably already guessed, we used to come back here — the locations are now permanently closed.
